Our Programs
We believe that lasting change begins at the roots. By investing in Black and underserved farmers, we’re planting the seeds of equity, sustainability, and generational wealth. Through education, market access, and financial empowerment, we cultivate resilient farms and thriving communities…one seed at a time.
The Legacy Initiative
The Freedmen Heirs Foundation seeks to support farmers in unlocking their potential to build generational wealth, leave enduring legacies, and play a transformative role in the agricultural landscape of the United States. The Legacy Initiative is designed to achieve the following key objectives: enhance financial resilience, expand market access, prepare for retirement and succession, strengthen college financial readiness.

Bookkeepers for Economic and Agricultural Success (BEAS) Fellowship Program
A pioneering initiative designed to bridge the gap between aspiring accounting professionals and the hardworking farmers who form the backbone of our agricultural systems. Targeted at juniors, seniors, and post-grad students enrolled in accounting programs, BEAS provides fellows with comprehensive training, mentorship, and real-world experience in farm business management and bookkeeping.

The Black Ag Network for Cooperation (BANC) Campaign
An informal network aimed at creating a cooperative initiative designed to preserve and strengthen programs serving minority farmers through shared staffing, resource pooling, and collaborative capacity-building.
